Get answers to common questions about Dermaplaning Facial.
Dermaplaning is generally safe for sensitive or acne-prone skin if there are no active inflammatory lesions. We assess your skin first and may postpone treatment for cystic acne, open wounds, or severe sensitivities.
Appointments typically last 45 to 60 minutes, including consultation, cleansing, dermaplaning, targeted serums, hydrating mask, and SPF application. Timing varies with add-ons or customized skin treatments.
Dermaplaning removes vellus hair and dead skin cells but is not permanent. Hair regrows at the same texture and color; most clients return every four to six weeks to maintain smoothness.
Side effects are usually minor—temporary redness, slight sensitivity, or mild flaking. Avoid exfoliants, retinoids, and direct sun exposure for 48–72 hours, and use gentle hydrators and sunscreen as directed.
For best results schedule dermaplaning every four to six weeks to match the skin's natural renewal cycle. Your esthetician will recommend frequency based on skin type, concerns, and combined treatments.
You can generally wear makeup after a short wait, as skin is exceptionally smooth. We recommend applying sunscreen first and avoiding heavy makeup for 24 hours if your skin feels sensitive.
